Medication-Assisted Treatment

Buprenorphine

  • FDA-approved partial opioid agonist that eliminates withdrawal symptoms, reduces cravings, and prevents overdose fatalities. 

  • Comes in an oral or sublingual tablet, sublingual strip, or monthly injection

Methadone

  • FDA-approved opioid agonist that eliminates withdrawal symptoms, reduces cravings, and decreases risks associated with illicit opioid use.

  • Comes in an oral solution, oral tablet, or monthly injection

Naltrexone

  • FDA-approved opioid antagonist that prevents and reverses overdose fatalities, reduces cravings, and blocks the effects of other opioids.

  • Comes in a pill, injection, intranasal spray, or long-acting implant
